To keep the body supple and moving freely, use stretching as a tool, first thing after waking up! That way you start the day by giving your body the signs to start increasing activity, lubricating the joints with synovial fluid, increasing muscle activity and also gradually rising the body’s temperature.
Same applies before you start any physical activity whether it is running/climbing or strength training.
There are different methods to stretch though which shall be used before and after workouts, it is not all the same!
